Tartufo della Ripa prized montefeltro white truffle
Welcome to a journey where the history and landscape of Montefeltro come together with the enthusiasm of the young Marco Saccomandi, an agricultural entrepreneur by vocation and a passionate "quarryman" of prized white truffles.
prized montefeltro white truffle - tuber magnatum pico
Marco made the brave decision to focus on prized white truffle: the most precious, the rarest, the one with the most intricate and seductive flavour. This truffle is not for cooking, as it fully releases its innate qualities when eaten raw, fresh and thinly sliced directly onto dishes with a simple elegance, timeless, the passion of star chefs and non, who are ready to bow before the king of aromas and flavours.
«When people think about truffles, the Marche region immediately comes to mind, but the truffles in this region do not only come from Acqualagna; there are other, lesser known places which are extremely generous with their product quality and quantities»

Ripa dei falchi
one place, one name
Ripa dei Falchi (literally, the Hawks’ Rise) was established just outside the town of Monteguiduccio, close to a steep and precipitous crag which stands out, like a white tuff interlude, in the lush green of the surrounding valley. Hawks can easily be spotted from Marco’s house as they glide around the incline in the early morning, hence the evocative words that the owner chose to name the love that binds him to his local territory.

About us

His innate and instinctive love for the land and environmentally-friendly soul is deeply rooted, as is his surprisingly in-depth expertise, resulting not only from his academic agricultural training, but also from knowledge handed down verbally by generations of inhabitants and workers of the lands where he was born and raised.
A story within a story
The lands of the Marche region in Italy which surround Urbino, a city of art and culture listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Indeed it is here, in the heart of Montefeltro, that Marco and his family live, moving in sync with the changing seasons, harvesting what the land offers up with the respect of those who love and do not exploit, in harmony with the environment and with the community of their home town, Monteguiduccio. The valleys surrounding this small town with its ancient and authentic charm are depicted in all their glorious beauty on the background of famous Renaissance paintings by the likes of Piero della Francesca and Raphael

A magical Place

It is in this very humus that the seed of Marco's idea grew and developed: to transform his passion for nature and his gifts into a profession. The decisive push came in 2020, when he discovered a truffle grove in the plot of wooded land his family had just bought, right on the border with land they already owned. It is a magical and protected place, an undisturbed reserve far from vehicular traffic and footpaths, enclosed in a valley where the purest spring waters flow down from the surrounding mountains, with generous humidity levels and a temperate climate.

A passion for truffles!

It is specifically with prized white truffle that he embarked upon his adventure as an entrepreneur. As a "quarryman” before that even, since he himself, together with his faithful four-legged companions Lapo and Pablo by his side, set off in search of truffles at crispy dawn between October and December, on the most exciting treasure hunt ever. The genuine treasure uncovered makes its way straight to the table of those who purchase Tartufo della ripa for their culinary delights!
